RSA, the security division of EMC, has released the results of two new research initiatives that explored the volatile relationship between information security and business innovation.

DHS completes radiological/nuclear detection drill in southeast transportation corridor

DHS completed Southern Exposure, a full-scale exercise (FSE) marking the culmination of the Southeast Transportation Corridor Pilot (SETCP). The exercise ran from 23 October through 5 November 2008, and was sponsored by the DHS Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO), along with other federal, state, and local participants. The FSE was intended to demonstrate the Southeast region’s capabilities to coordinate, communicate and respond during and after a possible radiological/nuclear threat to the region’s interstate highways.

Has pandemic complacency come home to roost?

Probably, given the worldwide financial crisis and a new U.S. administration, it is just as well that the pandemic panic is out of sight and out of mind. But the pandemic threat fell off the front pages a few months ago before such things hit the headlines.
