A U.K. university contracts a business continuity consulting firm to develop a business continuity blueprint for the school
Preoccupation with business continuity is not the domain only of corporations or government agcneis. Durham, U.K.-based Durham University has selected Nuneaton-based Jermyn Consulting to develop a cohesive disaster recovery and business continuity strategy for the school. Jermyn Consulting will work to develop a strategy to align IT disaster recovery capability with agreed user requirements. In addition to the disaster recovery and business continuity strategy, Jermyn has been tasked with providing the university with a Continuity Blueprint Report which will include:
* A robust business impact analysis that prioritizes business processes and IT services during recovery
* An understanding of the key areas of IT vulnerability
* A gap analysis between current capability and the university’s requirements for recovery
* Prioritized recommendations and a clear action plan
Dr Paul Jones, head of System Services at Durham University said that “We need to make our academic departments more aware of their reliance on IT. The University also needs to understand the potential impacts of losing key processes or IT services.”
