Last week Exigent Security Products announced that it will supply a large amount of radiation detection systems to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
The latest shipment is the third order from the Navy medical center and is for the company’s Radiation Detection Area Monitors which will be used to monitor radioactive materials used to treat patients.
To help secure the hospital Exigent will work in conjunction with Princeton Security Technologies Inc. to integrate Exigent’s sophisticated identification software with Princeton’s radiation detectors.
“We believe this order shows the potential for our Radiation Detection Area Monitor technology in the national hospital market and underscores the need to provide protection to important medical facilities from risks associated with accidents and terrorism threats,” said Frank O’Connor, Exigent’s president and CEO.
The company expects to deliver the products in the second quarter of 2011.
Exigent Security Products, Inc., based in North Barrington, IL, is a dynamic homeland security technology company specializing in the engineering, development, and sales of radiation detection and alert systems.
