FEMA seeks applicants for National Advisory Council

Council will advise FEMA administrator on the national preparedness goal, the national preparedness system, the National Incident Management System, and the National Response Plan; resumes due 9 March

Those with some extra time on their hands may wish to get in touch with FEMA. The federal agency announced this week that it is now actively seeking applicants to sit in the National Advisory Council as required by the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006. Intended to serve in an advisory role to the FEMA administrator, the council will focus attention on the development and revision of the national preparedness goal, the national preparedness system, the National Incident Management System, the National Response Plan, and other related plans and strategies. Individuals seeking to be considered for an appointment on the council should submit a resume by 9 March detailing their experience in the arena of emergency management.
