Fujitsu to use palm biometrics in laptops

A new line of Fujitsu 35 x 35 x 17 mm notebook computers will come with the company’s new Palm Secure biometrics system, capable of reading the veins in the palm of the user’s hand. The technology has been commercially available in Japan since 2004, with more than 10,000 units deployed in a wide variety of businesses, universities, libraries, and government organizations.
