A Hezbollah rocket hits a detergent factory near a northern Israeli city; the rocket caused massive firs but no toxic release; it could have been worse
In the two week war between Israel and Hezbollah, Hezbollah has fired nearly 1,500 rockets and missiles into Israeli cities and towns. Earlier today, a Hezbollah rocket slammed into a laundry detergent plant in the city of Kiryat Shemona, setting the factory’s warehouse on fire. Local police said no one was in the building when it was hit, and that there was no threat of toxic materials being released into the air. The warehouse belonging to Galim Chemicals, which make laundry detergent, sustained a direct hit. Huge flames and smoke billowed from the building and at least six fire trucks rushed to the scene.
During Israel’s two-week offensive against Hezbollah, the organization has
fired more than 1,400 Iran- and Syrian-made rockets into Israel.
