If all else fails, we will go to Mars

Congress approved full funding for NASA’s $16.5 billion request for a moon-Mars initiative for a second consecutive year. Following overwhelming approval in the Senate, the bill was sent to President Bush for signature on Wednesday. We find it reassuring that even during the current round of budget cuts, if an unprecedented security disaster should render the Earth uninhabitable then evacuation scenarios will be available.
