L-1 subsidiary IBT strikes deal to register Florida insurance agents
Worth $22 million over five years, contract shows Integrated Business Technology and L-1 leading the pack in Florida biometric enrollment; 70,000 agents will be registered annually
Ah, Florida, heaven’s waiting room for millions of New York retirees. To steal a quote from Walt Whitman, the Sunshine State contains multitudes. Multitudes, that is, of insurance agents. The state proccesses nearly 70,000 licensing applications annually and has turned to Integrated Biometric Technology (IBT) to install a new, fingerprint-based system to help manage the process. IBT, one of three certified to offer livescan technology in Florida, will install an automated applicant processing system that will log and administer fingerprints, including procurement, fee collection, and financial reconciliation and invoice payments. The five-year contract is worth $22 million, and the program is estimated to be fully operational by early 2007.
It should not go unremarked that this is just the latest in a string of Florida successes for parent company L-1 Identity Solutions. Other deals includes include:
