Northrop Grumman anounces $95 million in new U.S. biometric deals
One day after announcing a $75 million contract to provide DoD with an integrated biometrics system, company announces three other deals owrth $20 million
There is no stopping industry heavyweight Northrop Grumman, is there? The company announced this week that it had won three new biometrics and identity management contracts worth $20 million, all of them with intelligence and military offices within the U.S. government. The deal comes one day after Northrop announced it had received a seperate $75 million contract from the U.S. Army to provide an integrated Department of Defense biometrics system. The most recent deals include the following programs:
BULLETS
Biometric Intelligence Resource Program: Under this one-year $7.5 million contract, Northrop will develop the second generation National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) system, the designated repository for the Department of Defense information intelligence systems biometric-related intelligence.
Army Intelligence Master Plan Contract for Biometric Analytical Support: Northrop Grumman has received a $5.2 million addition to an existing contract to support analysis designed to improve understanding of the impact of the biometric environment on war fighting.
Biometric Intelligence Project (BIP): Northrop Grumman is subcontracted with McLean, Virginia-based Harding Security Associates on the NGIC’s four-year BIP Support, Analysis & Forensic Services contract. The four-year effort is valued at $3 million per year for the company, which will assist the NGIC in the collection, forensic analysis and exploitation of biometric information.
