The company’s newest system, the DERMALOG Next Generation AFIS, correctly identifiedan individual’s ten fingerprints in .89 seconds from a database containing more than 129 million fingerprints.
On hand to witness the product’s speed was SGS Institute Fresenius, which said that the combination of speed and accuracy made DERMALOG’s latest system unique in the world.
Dr. Bernd Grabe of the SGS Institute Fresenius said, “As the speed of fingerprint searching increases, the accuracy of the results is often reduced. But no loss in quality was observed with the “DERMALOG Next Generation AFIS” despite its extremely high speed. And what is more it uses standard hardware.”
“During the test everyone was identified correctly. There were no errors…The system is especially designed for use in conjunction with large-scale databases such as used at border checkpoints. That saves on long waiting times and enables speedy processing, with no errors in a second,” said Günther Mull, the founder and managing director of DERMALOG.
DERMALOG’s goal with the test was to demonstrate that its newest system did not lose any accuracy when working at extreme speeds
DERMALOG is based in Germany and specializes in developing biometric identification systems.
