Last week Face.com released a new app for smartphones that automatically recognizesthe faces of friends in photos taken with an Apple iPhone.

With “Klik,” the app will tag your friends’ faces in real time, often before the picture is even snapped with a name hovering above their face in the camera’s viewfinder.

By tapping into a user’s Facebook account, Klik is able to learn the faces of a user’s friends. In addition the app becomes more accurate over time as it grows accustomed to spotting the same faces.

The app is also programed to tap into photo feeds from friends that are nearby and can automatically tag and share photos via Facebook, Twitter, email, or on Klik itself.

Klik is currently free for Apple iPhones.
