TimeSight Systems, a player in the practice of video lifecycle management (VLM), was honored along with project team members Technicolor Inc., and VAS Security Systems as a Silver Medal Winner in the 2009 Security Innovations Awards. The award from Security Technology Executive magazine was presented at ASIS International. The team was recognized for VAS Security Systems’ implementation of TimeSight’s VLM video surveillance appliances at Technicolor’s new post-production facility in Hollywood.

“This project stood out because it solved some difficult requirements using some new and innovative technology,” one judge said. “The one-year storage requirement for more than 200 IP cameras — many with megapixel imagers — was the critical challenge. The TimeSight solution allowed huge savings in the project costs. This project is an excellent example of the value an independent integrator presents when unique requirements call for unique solutions.”

TimeSight’s technology is the only intelligent network video recorder (NVR) software to provide automated VLM capability, the company says. VLM is the practice of reducing the size of stored video over time, according to business rules, as the video ages and becomes less relevant. The result is massive storage savings.

Note that TimeSight has also been honored with an ASIS Accolade for its “Unique Approach to Security” and previously won the Security Industry Association’s prestigious New Product Showcase “Best Video Device” award at ISC West 2009 in Las Vegas.
