Universal Guardian teams up with CIBER
Companies sign a deal intended to conquer the global shipping and tracking market; agreement follows Universal’s recent purchase of MeiDa Information Technology; risk analysis for asset protection and anti-counterfeiting investigation among other improved capabilities
It has been a while since we heard from Newport Beach, California-based Universal Guardian Holdings, a developer of non-lethal protection products, integrated transportation security systems, and security services. Readers may recall, for instance, that the company won a major contract to supply stun guns to the Los Angeles Police Department; and readers may also remember that the company also showed some market moxie by buying up Hong Kong-based MeiDa Information Technology and its two subsidiaries, Beijing, China-based MeiDa Information Technology and Boca Raton, Florida-based Tagistics Corporation — all as part of an effort to bolster its Trusted Shipper program and SupplyChain Guardian system.
Now we hear that Universal Guardian has executed a global teaming agreement with Greenwood Village, Colorado-based CIBER to promote Universal Guardian’s strategic security systems and services alongside CIBER’s harbor management and security system. The deal is intended in no uncertain terms to put the two companies at the forefront of the global shipping and tracking market, including risk analysis for asset protection, anti-counterfeiting investigations, and insured services for intermodal transportation. “Our Total Asset Guardian platform together with CIBER’s harbor management and security system will enhance the security of port facilities and operations while simultaneously improving shipping operations and supply chain efficiencies,” said Universal Guardian CEO Michael Skellern.
